Wakefield “Quality of Life” Results to be Presented

Residents Invited to June 5th Meeting to Vote on Actions
from Community Vitality Initiative (CVI)

Wakefield, Quebec - Citizens of Wakefield will have an opportunity on Monday, June 5th at 7:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall to find out what their fellow citizens think of the state of the community and help design and vote on actions to enhance “community vitality” in the community.

Twelve weeks ago, 55 residents of Wakefield responded to a unique questionnaire and focus groups process about everything from the region’s economic state to its environmental health to its support for the arts. The 102-question survey also asked about such things as safety, learning, heritage and culture, leadership, physical space, sense of community, and entrepreneurship in the community.

Rendezvous Rupert is pleased to present:

Leading Ourselves

How do the choices you make affect your effectiveness, your health, your satisfaction? As most of us know but often forget, you really can’t change other people. You can, however, put energy into learning about yourself and into figuring out ways that you might influence the situation. This workshop is an opportunity to reflect and learn more about yourself, your perceptions, and your style of being. It is an opportunity to discover and influence positively how your strengths and learning edges affect your relationships with others at work (boss, clients, colleagues) or elsewhere in your life (spouse, friends, kids).

Rendezvous Rupert is pleased to present:

Navigating the Waves

Challenges are a part of any journey to living a well lived life. Do you know what you want but find yourself feeling stuck or fearful, unable to move forward? In this one day workshop we explore what’s stopping or stumping you and find ways to uncover, understand and embrace the questions and the clues hidden there. Through creative visualization, expressive arts, dialogue and other activities you will find out more about how you learn and what kind of support systems you need to navigate those waves. (Visioning workshop recommended but not obligatory.)

by Mara Munro
I sit at one end of a warmly-coloured couch, holding a freshly- pasted collage, the torn sides of the magazine images and words curling upwards with the hastily-laid glue. My free hand waves and points sporadically over the quickly-constructed yet deeply-inspired piece attempting to describe the subconscious significance of the work, which becomes clearer with every word. I am unaware of my body, its appearance or posture as eight strangers around me stare intently during this uninhibited explanation of my ‘work of art’. I am living purely in this moment of free expression derived deeply from within and inspired by childhood crafts. This moment was my apex of a daylong workshop I had the opportunity to participate in called: ‘Visioning: Choosing your Life’.
